pretty pretty princess!

long time no blog! and i missed you guys. did i ever! as you can see, i got my camera back, and i must thank amy for letting me use hers in the meantime.

so the yarn pictured is up for sale, i need to list it on etsy.com, but it is 50/50 soy silk and mulberry silk handdyed, and a bit of sparkle, as a pretty pretty princess MUST have. one skein is a bit more pinky and blue, the other more purply blue and then there is a matching skein of merino, that is gorgeous! oooh! and more stuff to come.

i have had a migraine for the past 5 days. is ranges from annoying to knocking me out. we went to a colonial garb craft fair, which kind of sucked, with jake's folks and i got to take photos of animules, and eat chicken on a stick. on the way home, my migraine got really bad and i went home and totally fell asleep for a couple of hours, so we did nothing tonite, which was nice. jake hung most of my lights and shelves in the studio, so it is almost 100% ready to go. yay!

i worked on some logos, etc for la pee la, which look pretty good. martha from naive knitting suggested having rubber stamps made, which i had considered, actually, so that is probably what i will do. i hope to get that going this week. so much to do! but in a good way.

i constantly have art dreams, which i feel so happy about. they were gone for so long. while combing out handdyed fiber, i get drunk on the color. i show different parts to jake, and he says, "didn't you just show me that one?" no. he tries. if we all got drunk on color, it could be really bad. right? i combed out silk and spun it most of the day yesterday. heaven!

the alden amos bible of spinning, is so fantastic. everything you could ever need to know. amazing. i read reviews where people said he seemed annoying with his little comments, but is it really bad to write in a lighthearted way? spinning should be very serious! no jokes! serious! like church! shut up, compainy janey! shut it! i learned the proper way to tie a skein, and more more more.

oh, also there are some baby hats on my flickr if you want to check em out, including the gnomey hat modeled on pavel. i need a little kid dummy head. anyone? anyone? i may have to make one. out of what? not sure.

oh, i got my fiber from little barn. the order wasn't exactly right, i had ordered waste sari silk for spinning, ooh la la, and it came as yarn, which i have no need for. i got tons of sparkle fiber and some dye and black and white baby alpaca which is gorgeous. i think that the black would be great with just sparkle, no? and a pleasure to spin. silk is so so nice to spin, also. i love it!

i think that is all...my head is swimming...

thanks for all the emails...it is so nice to be missed!
xo,
n.

I wasn't thrilled about the arts fair either (I was there saturday!!)-- same old stuff, different fair -- too much halloweeny stuff-- but the kettle corn is always good!
