i got a bunch of stuff for plying on ebay for super cheap, so that was really exciting. and it was all from the same person so the shipping was super cheap. i cannot wait. all kinds of nice stuff, including some silk yarn for plying. and sparkly lurex....ok, i will stop.

i got a call at at 8:30a from a dipshit asking how to get a tshirt from my ex-partner from the shop's band. yup. it didn't sound like a young kid, either. sad but true.

one of the yarns i made was a shag yarn, which came out gorgeous, and i used a yarn i had spun when i was first learning and had no clue what i was doing, so it is very heavy, but pretty, so it worked really well. when i realized that i have a use for virtually all the crap that i have, wow, that is exciting. i don't need a bunch of all the same fiber, i can get by on all sorts of scraps. that yarn, all 6 yards of it, took me hours to make. but i am proud of it.

i was telling jake last night how the yarns i was really bragging up were pretty, yet really amateurish, and it is just like when you are in school and you see the beauty in all you make and not the flaws, or the flaws are beautiful also, so when you learn to do something else with it...you are kind of embarrassed of your stuff after that. you know? just plying a single with thread makes such a difference. oh my gosh. bigtime. i was all impressed with how balanced some people's yarns were and didn't realize that when you ply it, it pretty much fixes itself. live and learn.

i must have some coffee, and i will post photos, it is sunny and gorgeous outside, so later gator....

your headache laden hostess,
n.
