psssst...
| i spent the day packing orders and swaps, and then realizing that i can't find the addresses for one of the swaps, so i had to email for that. i am getting a dry erase board so i can write orders and swaps, etc, down and not lose them. i am organizationally challenged...literally. my parents told me recently that i have something wrong with my brains regarding how i perceive things and organizing and managing things and some other stuff. and i just thought i was a jackass. aaargh. i hate it, though. i get overwhelmed very easily. it is easy to see how so many artists and musicians got ripped off by their managers and agents by letting them take care of everything for them, although, some of us are so flaky that we may not even know what we are looking for to be astray. it takes awhile. i have been ripped off before and it takes a while for me to catch on, but being a fairly generous person (i think so, anyway) it is incredibly upsetting, in most cases if you asked and i had it, i would give it to you. anyway! i am really going to need to get organized. the busier i get, the more problems i will run into, and that is a bad thing. recipe for destruction, as it were. i knitted up a little something for my pal and fellow spinster, lynn which came out really pretty. i was looking in my expensive commercial fancy yarn bin, from my boutique knitting days and found a yarn that almost looks like she could have made it. actually, my husband asked me if it was one of her yarns, although it is definitely not as exciting, for a machine made yarn, it is pretty. anyway, i put some buttons on it that are more than 100 years old that are sooooo cool. i love it. and, by blogging about it, i have to send it, see? i will post photos to-morrow. i did another feather yarn, using the green cvm pindrafted roving (oh, heaven!) from frenecreek which has tons of sparklerama in it, and then sections of white with sparkle (what else?) and then small sections of brown. i plied it with copper rayon thread, all the white sections are supercoiled and then the green has the feathers plied in. really pretty. i will post photos. i swear. the thing i love about supercoiling one color section is that it will stripe and be a textured stripe. purdy cool, eh? it's like having 2 yarns, or 3...not just one! i did another one of these yarns...i call this colorscheme, laverne...but also with the striped and textured segments. so fun to ply! ![]() here is an older yarn that has the striping supercoiled sections...he is called sprague, after that crappy 80's design with the neon stuff and graffiti-esque crap all over it. blech! ![]() i was up until around 4:30a this morning, so i had a really hard time waking up, as usual. i called my hairdresser for a badly needed appointment (when you have to use your mascara on your roots, it is not a good sign.) because i cancelled my appointment when i was sick, and she never called me back. i hope she isn't pissed. mainly because i am afraid to let anyone else do my hair. anytime i do, bad bad bad things happen. i would do my own first. or...nichole? so keep your fingers crossed for me and my screwed up hair. okay, off to take a shower. smooochies, n. |

Haha. I would do it, but then again I think we could both be a little afraid of how it would turn out. At worst I guess it would look like mine. :)

a few days ago i finally spun up the batt that you sent me and i have to say it turned out to be the coolest thing. i think i might end up making myself a hairband, something lacy on big needles since the yarn i made is thick and thin with big tufts.
anywho, the point is, thank you thank you thank you!
cheers.

aw, hannah, thanks so much! sometimes i get bored of doing regular spinning and do one of my batts and it is sort of like smoking crack (i haven't, i swear) it is quick to spin, but so fun! i am going to offer some batts with extra fiber so you spin a proper yarn from it. just email if you want anything made up...okay?
